Three crafty DIY tips for organizing your home

featured

Let’s face it- organizing your home, work place or wine collection can be a daunting task.  Have no fear though because La Crema is here to help you get your life in order. From your laundry room to your kitchen to your closets, we have a few organizing tips and tricks to share that we found on some terrific blogs.

The Laundry Room:

A place most guests do not see but maybe that’s why it can turn into such a mess of empty detergent bottles, random lint balls and AWOL socks. We found a blogger who has some great tips to keep the laundry room clean and organized so you never mistake your bleach for laundry detergent!

With a little help from the blog A Bowl Full of Lemons, you can go through a step-by-step process to revitalize your laundry room into a bright, organized space that’s a joy to use. Simple baskets and tubs will keep your soaps, detergents and stain removers looking organized as well as de-clutter the space.

The Kitchen:

Suffering from a cluttered pantry? Well we have some solutions for you!

First step is to take everything out of the pantry and look for old expiration dates and food you are willing to donate to a local food pantry. No need to keep food you will never eat!

Perfectly Imperfect gives great advice on organizing your pantry such as assigning each shelf a food group or type. If something does not have a place, then maybe it should not be in your pantry.

Another tip is to purchase some nice storage containers for your food and add a little personal touch to the space to make it more enjoyable.

The Closet:

Closets are often used as junk holders and have little purpose other than hiding the things you have no place for in your house. Or in some cases, stuff you can’t even hock at a garage sale. So why put that space to waste when you can make it into a working space?

Thanks to the blog, Love of Family and Home, we now know a secret for turning a closet into an office. It all starts with clearing out the closet and organizing the stuff into keepers and donations. Purchase a few simple boxes, trays, and a small table and you are on your way to turning a spatial dead-zone into a functional space in your home.
